I'm taking over.

My walker only seems to update this every 5 months, so I am taking over. As with so many other things in this country, this is a time of change. And in this household it is very important that someone on the ball be in charge. And I like balls.

Lately we have been preparing for the impending arrival of baby Thomas. There is much to do. As you can see, Francis has been annoying everyone.  Clio has been eating and sleeping.  And while not exercising to preserve my fine physique (see post below), I think about important things, evaluate the changes I'm making in the world... and keep the couch warm.

Jasper is anxiously awaiting the arrival of his human companion, Thomas. Here he is practicing frolicking in the snow. In case it isn't completely obvious, he's making a snow angel.

Making Space

What comes first, the baby or the blog? Yes, a chicken-and-egg conundrum seems appropriate for this new blog.
We're about half-way into this whole pregnancy thing, so there's little to report. We don't know if it is a boy or a girl; it squirms a little now and then; and, naturally, we've been sent diapers and fake milk formula in the mai
l, gratis! But on the home front, we are trying to squeeze a little more space out of our tiny home. New bookshelves in the hallway won't do much, but they might relieve us of one set of bookshelves in the (former) office. Much like a baby, even if the shelves are modest in scale they've taken up an inordinate amount of my time. The first attempt with built-in bookshelves ended as a hole in the wall; this current venture has been more successful; but to perfect my craft, the exercise needs to be repeated. Hmm, how many other walls can I tear down in the next 5 months?
